I tried to do a watercolor today of this image I had in my head and it fell a little flat. There's also a copy of the original drawing as well.
As I get older, sometimes I feel more pessimistic about how much I can do to help amidst all the world's problems I see. The act of creating seems to be one of my few redeemable acts in this life. When I draw something, I feel like I added something to the world. And it's mine. And I made it. Something meager, just scratches of lead on a piece of paper, but still something. Hopefully when someone look across my creative output, one sees integrity: that I honored my Creator and showed some wonder and respect to that which I had been privileged to experience. At least there’s a record that I lived a life and felt something that I wanted to share.
Any way, a few more meager scratches here. And they do need better scans. In progress. Been working on this 18*24 for a while on and off. Still working up the nerve to ink it.
